According to the NFPA, fires in the United States in 2016 resulted in 3,390 fatalities, more than four times as many injuries, and an estimated $10.6 billion in property loss. With the staggering exposures to life and property, the cause of every fire and explosion must be carefully investigated. Our teams of fire investigation experts have the knowledge required to conduct and manage complex fire investigations. We have the experience needed to steer the investigation from the initial site inspection through expert courtroom presentations.
Each fire scene is uniquely complex. Finding the evidence among the remains requires a fire investigator with experience, insight and skill. Beyond identifying, documenting and preserving evidence, a fire investigator must reconstruct the scene and test, develop, and prove a theory for the cause and origin determination that will stand up in court.
Once the point of origin is discovered, all facts and evidence are examined to establish the cause. To complement our investigative team, we also use the services of professional, court-proven experts for in-depth evidence analysis. Findings are based upon the complete set of facts and evidence from the investigation. The findings are thoroughly documented in a detailed written report with supporting documentation.
